So...here's the legal bit!
These terms are an important part of your driving lessons, so please take time to read them carefully.

*CANCELLATIONS*

Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or change your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled start time will be charged in full. Please plan your appointments carefully to prevent last-minute changes.

I never want to take payment where a lesson isn’t delivered, and appreciate that sickness and unforeseen circumstances sometimes make it necessary to change an appointment. However, when a lesson is booked that time is reserved for you and the diary planned around multiple customers, which makes it highly unlikely that the slot can be re-allocated if less than 48 hours’ notice is given.

DRIVING LESSONS
1. Payment – Cash payments will be required at the beginning of the lesson. Payments by bank transfer should be received no less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
2. Prices – Prices are subject to change. In the event of a price increase lessons will be delivered at the rate paid at the time of booking.
3. Pick-Up Points – Starting and finishing lessons at different addresses is not a problem, providing these are agreed in advance and both fall within the instructor's normal area of work.
4. Documents - Your instructor has a requirement to confirm your eligibility to drive. If you fail to provide the necessary information or documents, the instructor has the right to cancel – without liability.
5. Refund Policy – Should you stop taking lessons for any reason, any unused prepaid fees shall be returned. If a block-booking course is not completed in full, the lessons already delivered will be deducted at the full hourly rate to calculate the balance. No refunds shall be given for lessons already delivered.
6. Practical Tests – You should consult your instructor before booking a practical driving test. If a test is booked without consultation, no assurance can be offered that the tuition car will be available for the test.

ROAD SAFETY

7. Suitable Clothing - Appropriate clothing and footwear should be worn for all lessons. If you wear glasses or contact lenses for driving then these should also be worn during your lessons for road safety reasons.
8. Adverse Weather – Lessons will go ahead as planned, unless deemed unsafe by your instructor. The decision will consider factors such as your ability to deal with the prevailing conditions, along with any advice given by motoring organisations. If you – the pupil – cancels a lesson at short notice due to weather when conditions are considered suitable, then normal cancellation terms shall apply.
9. Medication - It is your responsibility to consult your doctor regarding any medication which may adversely affect your ability to drive. The lesson will be aborted where a pupil presents themselves in a condition that the instructor believes to be unfit, due to the effects of drink or drugs. In these circumstances the full lesson price will be due without exception. Alcohol can remain in your system for over 12 hours after your last drink, so please consider this when booking your lessons.
10. Mechanical Failure - Your tuition car will always be well-maintained and serviced. Your instructor cannot be held responsible for any loss of earnings or costs incurred by you – the pupil – where unforseen mechanical failure or accident-damage leads to a lesson or practical test being cancelled at short notice. Any lesson affected by such circumstances will be re-scheduled at the earliest opportunity to a mutually convenient time.
In addition your instructor will;

-
Act in a professional manner and avoid physical contact, except in an emergency for reasons of safety.
-
Abide by the law and never discriminate against you.
-
Recommend the most appropriate methods and materials to assist you with your theory and practical training.
-
Provide a well-maintained training car fitted with dual controls.
-
Discuss progress with you at regular intervals and recommend an appropriate time to book your practical driving test.
-
Deliver all lessons on a one-to-one basis and ensure that the full lesson time is provided.
-
Treat any information provided as confidential and handle it securely, in line with data protection guidelines.
